Battle Ready

Don’t think for one minute this is not a battle, an all out declaration of war. From Genesis to Revelation it is a blood bath. If I have a weapon I am not going to wait for the enemy to break into my house to learn to use it, so I can fumble around while he steals from me and kills my loved ones. Heck no! I will be armed and ready and he will tremble when he comes jiggling my door knob.

The devil doesn’t care how much Word we know or can quote. He could care less if we dance in church, sing in the choir, or thump our Bibles on the street. But what he does not want is for you to get the word in your spirit, into your belly…. so deep you actually believe it.

The enemy is subtle in his attacks. He is sheer genius in war tactics. He will never come at you face on, he will get you from the sides, your blind spots. He studies you and he strategizes.

Do not hear only through the opinion of others, through preachers, and Bible quoters…. you better get the Rhema word for yourself. The opinion of others can affect our ability to discern truth. You better know Him for yourself!

This video blessed me and it I guarantee it will set a fire in you.

Stand strong, because the time is short.

Most Important Post I Will Ever Write

I am dying of thirst by the side of the fountain. – Charles D’ Orleans

I am reminded today of the two thieves who were crucified next to Jesus. A death sentence to both for crimes they committed. Both had been found guilty and executed, but one received an eternal pardon.

Two others also, who were criminals, were led away to be executed with Him. And when they came to the place which is called The Skull [Latin: Calvary; Hebrew: Golgotha], there they crucified Him, and [along with] the criminals, one on the right and one on the left. And Jesus prayed, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they divided His garments and distributed them by casting lots for them.

One thing we can be certain of, as long as we are in this flesh there will always be a battle going on. The Bible says the flesh and the Spirit are at constant war with each other. What your flesh wants to do is at constant opposition with the Holy Spirit.

We want to have our own way, we are a selfish people, the flesh can never be satisfied. Give it an inch and it will take a mile. (Stay tuned for another post about fasting and bringing the flesh under submission)

Have you ever heard the saying, “Don’t give the devil a ride, because then he will want to drive“?

Picture this…

Your flesh and the Spirit are wrestling back and forth.

Your flesh say’s, “I want that! Feed me! Give it to me!”

You say, “No. I can’t do that. I can’t have that. It’s not good for me.”

Your flesh say’s, “Oh, come on, just this one more time!”

You say, “But I can’t, I promised I wouldn’t do it again.”

Your flesh say’s. “No one will ever know, it will be our little secret.”

Back and forth it goes. The more attention you pay to the unquenchable appetite of the flesh, the weaker you become to resist. Then you are right dab in another battle.

And this argument sounds like this…

The Accuser, “Ha! You call yourself a Christian? Look at you now.”

You… silence

The Accuser, “You might as well give up. Clearly you will never amount to anything because you can’t even control yourself.”

You…. silence

The Accuser, “You disgust me! You are worthless! You should be ashamed of yourself!”

You… silence

The Accuser, “God will never forgive you, He is tired of your whining and crying and fake apologies. You might as well stay hidden, because everyone is going to look at you and know you are nothing but a hypocrite.”

So then you begin to withdraw. You hide from everyone, you avoid fellowship with other Christians, you stop praying, you can’t even read the Bible anymore, you feel depressed, you begin to believe maybe the accuser was right, and you slowly slip…

Now, I don’t know what the two men on the cross next to Jesus did, but it was apparently something worthy of execution. I do not claim to know what you are going through, what your secret battle and defeat is, but I do know this…

There is no temptation that you face that is not common to man. Jesus was in every way tempted the way we are tempted, yet He was without sin. The temptation in itself is not sin, it is what we do when we respond to the temptation that leads to sin.

Paul himself said, “that which I want to do, I do not and that which I don’t want to do, I do.” This is a tale as old as time.

The devil is the accuser of the brethren, Jesus called him the father of lies and in him there is no truth.

When we are faced with temptations there are three voices we hear, our voice, the accusers voice, and then the Holy Spirit. We MUST learn to discern the voice. Only ONE voice is the voice of TRUTH.

Because of what Christ did for us on the cross, we now have an advocate. He is our mediator. He is our lifeline. Through Him, and ONLY through Him do we have a pardon.

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?  Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.  Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?  (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39

Does this mean there will be no consequence to our actions? No, when we do things in the natural there are consequences.

Listen to the voice of Truth. The voice of Truth say’s, “I love you. I forgive you. I will never leave you. I am not ashamed of you. You are accepted. Now, go and sin no more.”

My dear friend, you reading my words right now, this message is for you. Come out from your hiding place. You can’t hide from God. He has searched you out, He found you, now find Him. Forgiveness is there for you if you ask. Do not be afraid.

Now, back to the two thieves on the cross

One of the criminals who was suspended kept up a railing at Him, saying, Are You not the Christ (the Messiah)? Rescue Yourself and us [from death]! But the other one reproved him, saying, Do you not even fear God, seeing you yourself are under the same sentence of condemnation and suffering the same penalty? And we indeed suffer it justly, receiving the due reward of our actions; but this Man has done nothing out of the way [nothing strange or eccentric or perverse or unreasonable].Then he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingly glory! And He answered him, Truly I tell you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.

There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. He came to set us free and who He has set free is free!

There is no magic formula, no twelve step process, no drug, no substitute, for what Christ has given us. He has made salvation available to all who receive.

In this world you will have tribulation, you will have struggles, you will have heart ache, you will experience rejection, temptations, and sometimes you will fall down, you will fail, but get back up. What we experience now is nothing compared to the Hope we have in Him.

I pray you hear and receive His calling to you. I pray you lay it all down and walk into His embrace. God is big, He is strong, there is nothing He can’t handle. There is no sin so great He can’t forgive. No matter what anyone has ever told you, He say’s He loves you. No matter who left you, He say’s come, I accept you. No matter what sin you have committed, how dirty and shameful you feel, He say’s let Me wash you as white as snow and give you a new garment. No matter what your past was, in Him you are a new creation.

Come to Him while He can still be found.

Lay Hands on Yourself

pt1178_350x383_ON_PAGE-stretched

Sometimes you just have to lay hands on yourself. You have to stir it up. There is no mountain too high, no valley too low, that you can not cross it. Remember, He goes before you, He makes every crooked path straight.

What are you facing today? Speak to it! If you have His Holy Spirit then you have all you need, because He said all authority has been given to you, you will do greater things than He did because you have His Holy Spirit in you. He said to not be afraid, you will have troubles in this world, but He has overcome this world. He has redeemed us on the cross and He has defeated death through the resurrection.

What can man do to you? God holds life and death in His hand, there is no need to fear. Do not look around you, look to Him. He said though a thousand fall at your left side and ten thousand at your right, do not fear because it will not come near you.

He opens doors no man can shut, you are blessed and highly favored of God.  You have been redeemed, He has called you by name, you share in the inheritance, you are a son/daughter of God. You have been set apart for a higher calling, you have been anointed to preach the Good News to set the captives free. You are free!

Call forth those things that are not as though they were. Declare with your mouth, prophecy over your life, over your family, your relationships, your ministry… be about the Fathers business. From the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize—a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].

Walk in love, because love covers a multitude of sins. Forgive those who have offended you, freely you have been forgiven, so freely forgive others.

Do not believe the bad reports, do not rely solely on what your eyes see, I say put on your spiritual glasses and see as God sees. You are not a victim! You are above and not beneath, you are the head and not the tail.

If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]  He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect [when it is] God Who justifies [that is, Who puts us in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God, Who acquits us?] Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us? Who shall ever separate us from Christ’s love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword? Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep for the slaughter.

Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So, my friend, remember the promise. Remember who you are. You are not the old you that was once swayed by the circumstance, tossed to and fro on the waves. Your feet are firmly planted on the rock that will not be moved.

Put your hand on yourself, do not wait for someone else to do it… you do it!

You have been called for a purpose.

He Thought He Was the Shizzit

Ever wonder how you ended up in such a confusing relationship? Is it leaving you feeling torn down, beat up, and exhausted? Don’t ignore the quiet voice.

I Am Not leah

marionette

How did I get so deceived? I am an intelligent woman. I know the Word, I have a personal relationship with Jesus. I should have known better.

“You are too hard on yourself” a friend told me.

I have to take responsibility for my actions too. It would be quite easy to just point fingers at him and say it was all his fault. Honestly, I believe the breakdown of our relationship was his fault. But the results of the fall out, the injury to my soul, I can’t blame him for that, that part was my fault. I saw the red flags, I ignored them, I justified them, I excused them. I heard God warn me and tell me no, but I had to have it my way.

You see, he was everything I thought I wanted.

I met him online, a Christian dating site (fair warning, not everyone…

Give Me The Power To Walk Away…

I could write a post, but I think this song and lyrics speak it all. I do hope you listen to this and it ministers to you.

There are times I cry out to God, “Save me again! Rescue me!”

He says to “Speak to it, Stacey. You have all authority through My Spirit.”

I find when I am feeling a little empty, or confused (and knowing confusion is not from God), when I can’t speak, or pray, I turn on music that glorifies Him. When we magnify Him our problems seem to get so much smaller. Suddenly everything is in perspective.

Enjoy!

And He’s the God that wipes my tears, and provides enough to pay all my bills

Wolves Aren’t Good Pets

What  I am about to tell you is a true story…

wolf 2

After careful consideration and planning, my little girl and I adopted a dog from the animal shelter. We were ready for the responsibility and my travel had slowed down.

We made the trip to the animal shelter and saw the most beautiful dog. He was well behaved and he was the only dog who didn’t bark like crazy. My daughter fell in love with him instantly. I told her we would go home and think about this over night and then come back. There was much to consider adopting this dog. He was big, had lots of hair (which meant there would be lots of shedding), and would need extra walks and exercise. Not too mention all the food he would eat.

The next day we go back to the shelter and we take him out for a walk. Yes, I fell in love with him, too! OK, this is our dog, he will be a part of our family. We adopt him, micro chip him, get his shots, buy the toys, the leash, the food, and crate. My daughter named him Mordecai, Mordy for short.

Mordy was the perfect dog! He was so well behaved, not one accident in the house,  he walked nicely with us on the leash, he was affectionate, he followed us around the house, and he NEVER barked.  Because I am a single mom, Mordy also brought with him a sense of security;  after all, who would break into a house with a dog this big?!

Everyone commented on how beautiful he was. He walked so proud. He held his head high.

But no matter where we went, people would ask me the same question.  Comments about his beauty were followed by, “Is he a wolf?”

“No, he is a husky mix.” I would answer, because that is what the papers said.

The day came for Mordy to get the snip. You know, the snip male dogs get. Poor boy. I drop him at the vet and in a few hours I go back to pick him up.

“Surgery went well,” the vet tech told me. Then she asked me the question… “Do you know what kind of dog you have?”

“Yea, he is a husky mix.”

“No.” She tells me. “He is a wolf.”

Gads! I got a dog and it turns out to be a wolf. Everyone saw it but me. This began to explain a lot.

After the honeymoon period, Mordy’s wolf side started to show. You see, in a wolf pack there is only one alpha. In my home Mordy viewed me as the alpha.  He went from the best dog ever, to a wolf challenging my position as alpha. It became quite intimidating, let me tell ya.

What I viewed as a well behaved dog, was actually a wolf in waiting. He never barked, because wolves don’t bark. He could have never been the watchdog protector, because he would assume the alpha (uh, that would be me), would take care of any intruder. He would go back and forth, one minute the best gentle dog, and then the next minute a wild wolf. It was unnerving sleeping with one eye open.

I was sad when I had to find Mordy a new home. He is now with a man who knows how to handle wolves.

I learned a valuable lesson from this experience. Wolves do not make good family members. They are to be in the wild. You can not tame a wolf.

I also learned another lesson. Sometimes people are like wolves. The Bible warns us about wolves in sheeps clothing. I met a few wolves. And I think I have learned how to spot them.

You may not recognize them at first. Because, like Mordy, they are very attractive at first. They are on their best behavior. They are well behaved, gentle, and do whatever it takes to get into your home. They will lull you into a false sense of security.

Then their true nature will start to show, it will be subtle at first, and you will think things like, “Maybe he is having a bad day?” or “Maybe I am not giving him enough attention?”

Then he will watch for your vulnerabilities. He will challenge you. He will bite you right in the backside. Not only will you begin to feel “not safe” with him, you will not be safe period!  Because it is not in his interest to protect you. Remember, he wants to dominate you, because that is what wolves do.

He will begin to shed his beautiful coat, leaving a mess for you to clean up, and he will no longer be attractive. It starts little by little, at first you will doubt what you are seeing. After all, he was so beautiful, how did he get so ugly? Remember the walks you used to enjoy?  Forget that!  Because he doesn’t want to walk with you anymore;  now he just wants to pull you into the oncoming traffic.

wolf

This is how to protect yourself from being deceived into bringing a wolf into your home.

1. Listen to the people closest to you. If they cry wolf, you just might have a wolf.

2. Don’t fall for the pretty coat. Eventually he will shed the coat. What’s underneath is what is important. To be more clear, the Bible says it like this, you will know them by their fruit. Look for the fruit.

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].

3. A wolf will not protect you!  If he doesn’t have your best interest,  if he is self-centered, if it’s always about him… then you may have a wolf.

4. If he is not genuine, is short tempered, lacks self control, and you don’t trust him to not bite you in the backside…

RUN!!!  You have a wolf!
