Pentecost is for ALL Believers

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place,  and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed [among them], and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit]. And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately]. -Acts 2:1-4

The promise of the Holy Spirit is a gift to ALL believers in Christ.

Jesus said, “You will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses (to tell people about Me) both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Jesus also said, “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you (to be in close fellowship with you). (John 16:7)

And in John 14:12, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me (as Savior) will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these (in extent and outreach) because I am going to the Father.”

You see, Jesus came to save those who are lost. His work was finished on the cross when He said “It is finished.” Because of His sacrifice for our sins, His death and resurrection, we can be reconciled with God the Father through His Son, and we are empowered with His Holy Spirit to be bold and courageous witnesses for Him.

When He said it is finished, our work (purpose) began. Jesus did it all! He paid the price and He empowers us through His Holy Spirit. We just have to believe, obey, and open our mouth. The world did not end at the cross, but eternal life began for those of us who believe and are saved through His blood.

For God so loved the world…

Do you know Jesus? Have you been baptized in His Spirit? His Holy Spirit is a free gift for ALL who believe.

Do you want to know if you have His Holy Spirit? Look for the fruit!

Ask and receive and then go… “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo….

I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, remaining with you perpetually, regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Thank You, Jesus, for Your Holy Spirit, for not leaving us alone without a Helper.
